WAITLIST
Any players wishing to register after a team has reached the maximum number of registrants, will be placed on the waitlist. The waitlist is on a first-come, first-serve basis and will be honored in the order that players registered. If a registrant is not paid in full by 7/31, then he will lose his place on the team and the next person on the waitlist will take his place. Once a player is moved from the waitlist to the team list, payment must be paid in full ASAP to secure his spot.
FAQ's
● Q: What does the practice schedule look like?
● A: Once the season starts, there are 6 hours of practice per week; usually over 3 days. Our field accessibility is limited by City Hall. Then the team will usually have an hour film session the day before the game. The FCFL films all the games and the participating towns have access to view the games.
● Q: Are the teams divided by grade?
● A: Yes, per the FCFL, the teams are divided by grade. There are weight limits in place for skills positions for safety purposes.
● Q: When are the August practices?
● A: The practices in August usually start at 5:30pm and run for two hours. We try to practice on turf as much as possible so it’s usually at McMahon or Nathan Hale. We also practice/play in all weather; heat, rain, cold, etc. The only time we’ll cancel practice/game is if there’s thunder and lightning.
● Q: How competitive are the games?
● A: The games are competitive; however, there is zero tolerance for dirty playing. Safety comes first, then development, then winning. NJF Coaches have to go through hours of video training on proper tackling form, concussions, dehydration, etc. There is also an EMT at all games.
● Q: When does the season end?
● A: Practices and conditioning start in August. Then the last weekend in August is the Jamboree. Then the regular season starts, usually the first weekend in September. Playoffs are in November and the Championship game is usually the weekend before Thanksgiving.
● Q: What equipment do players receive?
● A: Part of the registration fee goes towards equipment, which includes a helmet, shoulder pads, 1 mouthpiece and a uniform (jersey & pants). All are to be returned at the end of the season. It is highly recommended that players get their own integrated padded pants to wear under their uniform pants.
