Norwalk JR Football and Cheer is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, 100% volunteer organization based in Norwalk, CT.

Since 1958, Norwalk JR Football & Cheer (NJF) has promoted both scholastic and athletic success through safe and supportive youth football and competitive cheerleading programs. Our team is 100% volunteer, consisting of parents and other members of the community who are committed to serving our youth.

Our programs provide young athletes the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of football and competitive cheerleading in a safe and structured environment. Every single young athlete in grades 2-8 is welcome and given a fair opportunity to participate. On the field, we teach teamwork, sportsmanship, responsibility and discipline. Our mentoring continues off the field, where we require scholastic success, teach health and wellness, and counsel our athletes on how to be successful in life. We are the primary feeder program for Norwalk’s Public High Schools and we have several alumni playing college football and in the NFL.

This year, over 400 athletes will participate in our tackle and flag football and cheerleading programs. We charge a modest registration fee that helps cover equipment costs and fees associated with games, including referees and trainers. Our policy is to never turn away a young athlete who wants to participate, regardless of the family's ability to pay.

Local support is very important to the ongoing success of our program. Please consider supporting youth football and competitive cheer in Norwalk.
